Examples of my work in Adobe InDesign
This section of my portfolio illustrates how I use InDesign to layout vector graphics that I design in Adobe Illustrator with the rasterized images I create in Adobe Photoshop. Gig Poster
For this assignment we were able to choose any musicians dead or alive and to make gig poster for their show. For the poster we also had to choose an art genre and make our design in that fashion. I choose surrealism, inspired by Salvador Dali, gave it a holiday flare and for my band, I choose four of my most favorite musicians of all time to form an “after life” band (coincidentally their names all begin with J, so I named the band The 4 Jays for John Lennon,
Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, and John Bonham. I used a blue jay as their symbol. I decided to have the show take place on the Winter Solstice in 2020 since that was the year that “anything can/could happen” and I provided the Tardis from Doctor Who so the attendees, Emcee (Alfred Hitchock), and Band could all gather at one of my most favorite venues in San Diego, The Casbah.
I used Illustrator to create the background and then Photoshop to meld the pieces together finishing the final layout and text in InDesign.
